It just blows my mind that THIS is the best they can do. That instead of looking at ways to reduce costs so more Americans could afford coverage, their knee-jerk reaction is to tax our businesses to fund their $2 trillion "plan."
I want people to be able to afford healthcare. I just don't see how that can happen if every move Congress makes increases the burden on our already stressed small businesses (which I believe are the lifeblood and future of this country).
If our parasitic government continues to leech resources generated by those of us who work hard or are entrepreneurs or innovators or business owners, there aren't going to be many of us left to leech off of in a few years. So if this is their big, brilliant plan to save the country and provide healthcare for all, they better start working on what they're going to do when all of our businesses have closed their doors or gone under, and no one can find a job because there is no longer an incentive to do business here.

TAKE ACTION
Take action today by letting your reps know how you feel. Healthcare costs ARE exorbitant... so let's focus on REAL WAYS of reducing costs.
If they pass a bill containing nearly 1,000 pages you can be sure that almost no one voting for it will really understand it.
Please hit Congress again. Use DownsizeDC.org's health care campaign to send your message.
It doesn't matter if you've sent recent messages on this issue. Send another one. Say something different this time.

Great read and video. I do
Great read and video. I do agree that this is really something we should take action on. High prices of health care, increasing prices of oil products, lesser job opportunities and increasing poverty rate. We should let the government know how we fell about this things and show them that we are very much affected. Even our 1800petmeds has suffered a great deal from the recent economic crisis we had and had to lay off several employees. A very sad reality.
More than 40 million people
More than 40 million people in the United States say they cannot afford adequate heath care and go without drugs, eyeglasses or dental treatment, according to a federal report released on Monday.
The latest look at the state of U.S. health care also shows that while death rates from cancer and heart disease have dropped in recent years, just as many Americans are dying in car crashes. It's real problem not only in this country. So Congress takes the bull by the horns.
I have downloaded an interesting article at http://www.picktorrent.com about actions of Congrees according to this problem.
I don't know why some kind of
I don't know why some kind of health reform has not gone through yet. This blows my mind! And we don't need health insurance reform...we need health care reform. My unemployed bro can't afford his meds anymore and he has not way to pay for them. It's time to take the fat cats of the health insurance industries off their high horses and bring them down to reality. If I got some help with health insurance I could finally get my wife the black diamond earrings that she wants for Christmas.
Why does Congress
Why does Congress (government) hate businesses and jobs? An important question. Why do they hate individual liberties and state's rights? What is the motivation for providing health care? Where is that in the Constitution? Why do they allow police to carry guns and tasers and use them against civilians? Why is there an income tax which robs me of my money that I earned?
The answer to all of these questions is the same: because government wants more power. It wants monopoly. It wants allegiance. It wants conformity. It does not care if private enterprise fails. It has never had to worry about meeting a payroll, it prints the money because it has a monopoly over money. It wants a new monopoly over health care. It will favor its political friends. It will enslave millions into being more dependent on government. It will invade our lives to an even greater degree and undoubtedly rob us of quality care.
Government is not benign. It is a malignant tumor which will one day , as you suggest, kill its host. It doesn't care.
Hi Shelly, From a distance
Hi Shelly,
From a distance many in Europe (and most likely in lots of other places around the world) are trying to follow everyhing weird going on in the USA at the moment. Almost every day we are totally flabbergasted about the new laws passing just like that, the things with this private bank called 'Federal' Reserve going on, FEMA camps and much more rediculous things. Not to mention companies like Monsanto and how they are totally destroying our planet and lives of many around the world. All that is really scary stuff!
If all this would have happened in a european country, they would probably already have occupied every governmental building and sent all the politicians home with a giant kick in the butt. It's totally absurd everyone lets them get away with it! I would say, it's time the american general public wakes up and takes action (are you all still paying income tax to the IRS, while there isn't even law for that..?).
But don't get your hopes up too much. New elections will not really solve all this. It will just be another face in the White House. Kick 'dictator' Obama (he is even worse then Bush) and all of his corrupt 'Wall Street' politicians. Put a tight leash on the Federal Reserve and all other large banks. Return to a republic with the Constitution as a solid base. Just refuse the new world order to happen.
Your video diary also helps us keeping up to date, so keep up the good work! Many thanks!
Greetings,
Martin J.

I would think the first thing
I would think the first thing the Obama administration would have done would be to study the best health systems in other countries. How do they compare to our health system, and with those in other countries? How low are their health costs, etc? I don't think they did that, as I haven't heard any discussion of the health plans in other nations (other than Canada), yet it seems like such a no-brainer thing to do before proposing massive changes to the US plan.
You say it like it is - keep
You say it like it is - keep up the great work!!
It shouldn't blow your mind.
It shouldn't blow your mind. It can't be the "best" they can come up with...you already know that "our parasitic government continues to leech resources generated by those of us who work hard or are entrepreneurs or innovators or business owners," so one can conclude that it is merely the nature of the beast. It has no intention of keeping best collective or sovereign interests in mind.
