Hey guys!
If you follow ByteStyle.tv at all, you probably know I'm all about technology and food issues. I thought this idea was cool enough to sign myself up, and I wanted to pass it along for those of you who are interested in growing/eating real foods, farming and opting out of the mainstream industrial food system.
It's called "My Organic Acres" and it gives you the ability to grow your own organic food (or have it grown for you & delivered). And the best part is that if you share this with other people, you can get some or all of your food for free! I know money's tight for me right now, so the way I see it, this is a win-win for anyone who wants to eat fresh organic produce and not have to pay what you'd pay at the grocery store.
Here's a quick overview:
The Goal:
Organic Acres' single goal is to provide you and your family with the healthiest, tastiest and most nutritional selection of foods for the best prices and deliver them straight to your door.
The Perks:
* Lease and have access to your own organic garden
* Grow anything you like
* Guaranteed crops
* Access crops from other farmers
* Have your organic foods delivered direct to your door
* Sell your organic foods through their Farmer's Market
Sound interesting? This is a good time to check it out - It's totally free right now to sign up and see what it's all about.
I'm not in any way affiliated with the site, I just think it's a great idea, and I hope it takes off.
If you like the idea, it'd be great to have you on board! If it's not for you, that's fine too! I appreciated Matt Sistrunk letting me know, so I thought some of you might like to check it out too.

I don't think there's any
I don't think there's any affiliate ID in there and even if Shelly gets paid to do it...then what's the problem? Who these days don't like to make money promoting other stuffs? If the site she's referring to is allowing us to get a private garden where we can grow food (Still a dream for many) and also have the potential to earn money from it...then I think it's a perfect thing...With out own garden we can make sure what's being used on our crops etc...
Anyways Shelly, just one thing you're now hosting that site so have you into any kind of partnership with that site or what? Since you've a lot of knowledge regarding organic foods etc.

I was intrigued and sat through the movies -- and boy doesn't this sound like a pyramid scheme! Where is this farm? I found one reference on the web to Orange County, CA, but the official address is a PO box in Oregon. Who are these people? What do they know about farming? Or business, for that matter? I'm afraid that there are a lot of nice, well-meaning people out there about to get burned.
Organic farming methods offer
Organic farming methods offer several benefits for the environment and human health as a whole, but unfortunately, there are many misconceptions and falsehoods being spread regarding organic food and farming methods, both by proponents and detractors. Here are the facts about what organic methods can do for us and what they can't.

This sounds like a neat idea, but I rather buy local organic food, or grow my own on my free time since it seems more convenient.
